The dark web - not dark enough for some

They say a week is a long time in politics. In crypto, this last week has been as eventful as many can remember, even in the context of the volatility that has been a cornerstone of  crypto’s story since its inception.

In a remarkable story, authorities in the US had recovered over 50,000 Bitcoin in November 2021, then worth a whopping $3.6bn, that had been misappropriated ten years ago on the Silk Road dark web marketplace. Last week they issued a state y confirming that one James Zhong had plead guilty to unlawfully obtaining it in 2012.

The crypto story has moved on in leaps and bounds since 2012, no doubt, and the journey is by no means done. This is a fascinating glimpse into one of the most significant events in that story, and well worth reading.
